Due to a server update a month ago, the folder containing all the photos and files for the BOAT SPEC section has been corrupted. It cannot be retrieved.
I am devastated that we have lost every image and PDF of the boat specs.
So a huge call out.
Please can members E<MAIL ME (don't attach to a post) copies of boat specs, old flyers, old manuals and images of boats particularly if you have a model that is rare so we can rebuild the library. The images of boats need to be of UNMODIFIED bodies, just as they came off the production line

There is NOTHING--absolutely nothing--half so much worth doing as simply messing about in boats.

Oh Sue, that's such sad news. I really hope we can all recover some of what was lost

Why don't you move hosting to AWS and schedule backups for the block storage?. If this is an old php based site you might initially consider pure VM hosting although maybe you could actually make an AWS "elastic beanstalk" image to give resilience and move the MySql database into an AWS RDS serverless platform which will look after backups for you.

I have absolutely no idea what you are saying or what you mean I have no IT training whatsoever.
I have run this site voluntarily since 2008. i have a family and a job. I muddle through most disasters but this was devastating as most of the info lost is irreplaceable.
I am approaching 65 and think it's time someone else took over, so if you can help, please contact me. I would be very grateful.
