Hi les, so we went with the thinners and wet sanded it all flat and we got an acceptable result. Would have been better had we thinned the paint in the first place but its all a learning curve and next time we will be ready with the thinners.

Next photo were probs on coat number 2. We made the fatal mistake with not thinning the paint. The resulting coats seemed patchy to say the least. We ended up with 3 coats last one using the thinners and it looked alot better, but not 100%.

Its beena wee while since i last posted on this thread. Progress has been made on the roof. The project went quite smoothly despite my partner and I being novices. I would really recommend anyone that is willing to give it a go to do so if your roof is as rotten as ours was.

Has anyone used this paint before? Just had the topside painted and we keep getting uneven roller strokes. When its dry there looks like bits have been missed which we know haven't and also the lines appearing from rollers. Used Mediterranean white and the top and Platinum for the bulkhead.. no ...

I probably made it sound more complicated! Just try lifting the coupling, if it’s really easy it’s too light, if you can’t lift it at all it’s likely too heavy. Unless you’re a weight lifter 🤣🤣

The transom should take the weight, but make sure the trailer is supporting the transom, you need plenty of support underneath the transom or within about 4”, don’t have the boat hanging too far off the back of a trailer.
