If you go for an all round white light you'd want to mount it at the stern. You'll trash your night vision staring at a white light in front of you.

Strange that it wouldn't have been sealed from the factory, they appear to be capable little sea boats so it' was always going to be a problem.

I think it may be a build issue; not sure mine was finished that well as it had a couple of other quality snags. If it was a design issue they'd all leak ...

Hull join under rubbing strake now sealed with sikaflex. Since then I've had no more water ingress into the hill despite heavy rain and going out in the Bristol Channel in strong winds and choppy seas. Hopefully that's the water ingress on my boat finally sorted.

I find this problem a pain when boating single handed; I need fenders in harbour but it's not safe or practical to retrieve the two fwd fenders on my F4. I have come up with a solution of sorts:

Hi,

I have a 2011 Family Four Mk8 and can't find the Craft/Hull ID Number (CIN/HIN) marked anywhere. I believe it is supposed to be marked in two places : Stbd outer transom and somewhere hidden inside.

Does anyone have a recent F4 with a HIN number marked on it or are they all like this ...

Pull back the rubbing strake and see if there's any sealant in the join between the hull moulding and the cabin moulding. There isn't any in mine! This is the prime source of water ingress on my boat.

I took the cockpit socket out. Took 30 mins with a palette knife to get through the sealant. If you tip the boat bows down on the trailer you'll get the water out through the cabin though.
