My Shetland Family Four 4 Rebuild

Hi Everyone
Long-time lurker here (I'm pretty sure I posted quite a lot when I first got my boat, but the posts seem to have disappeared...) with a 1989 Family Four which I've had since 2006.
I tidied it up back then, but now it's in need of more of a refurb like you've done here.
I notice you've used foil underneath the carpet on the walls (and ceiling?).
What are the pros and cons of that in a boat?

I bet its an insulation mat. If you do longer trips and sleep in the cabin, the mat keeps you warm.
I've done my F4 relining last week (still in progress) and haven't used anything just lining but you can use quality insulation if want.
There is plenty of pros having insulation mat, i.e. keeps you warmer, walls are softer (safer when you hit the wall accidentally with head, elbow), lining surface glued to the mat is nice and smooth (if you putting the lining directly to fibreglass, you can see some surface irregularities) etc...
Cons: more work obviously. It will get mouldy if the insulation is not good quality
By the way, it a lot of work. The cabin is small, you work on your knees, or back haha. Real nightmare
