Your tail seems nice, mine has much higher waves in it. About the foam one option is to drill a hole in fiberglass (not in the hull of course) and see what comes out, or bring the boat on a trailer to a large scale (don't know the correct english name for it) to see how much it weights, then substract the weight of the trailer alone. If the result is much higher than expected it is likely you have water inside. Removing it would be a tough job, so let's hope this is not the case.
