I'm yet to do enough runs to confirm it but my 50hp 2 stroke appears to be burning 15 to 20l an hour while planing, might take your advice and plod around with the 4hp when I'm not in a rush! Only problem there really is it doesn't charge the battery for the vhf & gps.

it all comes down to were you are sorry ie Bristol channel then it needs to be big. Loch Lomond then anything. as a rule though for a 570 if you use her a lot where there are currents and a strong tide then 6 and if not the Suzi 2.5 and honda 2.3 are great and will do the job. The 6 is the biggest single cylinder outboard so anything bigger and they are hard to lift.
