Have you considered a 4 Plus 2, slightly longer at 6.5m, but also wider so much better cockpit space and standing room in the cabin. I previously had a 20 foot Mayland, but got fed up of the low cabin head height and restricted cockpit space. The 4 plus 2 is a very well laid out boat, spacious cabin and cockpit without being too big and it will still go under low bridges, there is a 2.2m low bridge on Bristol harbour and it will clear that by folding the centre canopy hoop forward.

Hi there, if your budget is 10-20k then you’d do a lot worse than look at a 5-10 year old 4+2 , we’ve got one with a 75 hip Honda on the blunt end and it goes very well .Also at broads speeds very frugal .

Suprised that there are so few newish family four for sale.

There maybe more towards the end of the summer perhaps.

I spoke to James the boss of Shetland at the Southampton boat show around 10 years ago about the lack of any small boat on their stand, and he told me they hardly ever sold the F4 anymore, people just wanted the bigger river boats like the 27, so I'm not surprised there are so few newish F4s for sale. Quayline in Poole have bought the mould tools for the F4, maybe a Quayline F4 is within budget, if you are looking for a boat small enough to trail.

Apparently the owner of Quayline boats died a year or so ago.
So production was very much affected.
I have heard stories that they are as hard to contact as Shetland are now lol.

Mind you, I remember going to the boat show and seeing lots of boats of interest at prices that were not too bad, if you go now, even the small ones are astronomically priced.
That's probably why they are not popular like they once were, maybe...

Yes tried to contact Quayline on several occasions but no answer.
Will call to see them when next in Poole if they are still operating.
