Really appreciate it. I can stop worrying now as my initial thoughts where that there was something wrong with the boat as the drains were under haha. A big weight off my shoulders!

Thanks dellquay. I’m learning fast! Owned a Maryland 16 for about 10 years on the Thames but only got serious with the 4+2 in 2019. Been reading researching and learning and despite the forum being a bit quiet there’s some great info here. Staring to put her back together but the weather defeats me on an almost daily basis!
Any thoughts on where to buy Honda silver primer and paint?

10 years with the same boat will get you a good insight into most problems, and small boat skills are transferable between small British brands.
As for the paint, either a dealer or eBay 'honda outboard paint'?
I couldn't tell you what county Guildford is in, never mind where your local stockists are!

Haha I had to look up Milford Haven but at least I knew it was S Wales . Guildford is South of London and on the River Wey with is river and navigation. The oldest canal navigation in England and very pretty. Was a route to and from London and amongst other things carried gunpowder. Still links with the Thames.

Like a lot of things, paint is in short supply and expensive on eBay, found some online at F10 chandlery.

Milford is where I do my boating nowadays, but I live nr Chesterfield which is about as far as you can get from the sea in England, with just 4 miles of restored navigable canal...

I had to repair my engine cowling and used TK line spray paint from MarineScene. They seem to stock most of the outboard colors.

Hi Mark, thanks for this. I saw these and have bought from them before but boy is that expensive. The engine is original so 32 years old with 3500 hrs on it, though the gauge didn’t work so I replaced it. Keeping costs to a minimum due to age, it’s in remarkable condition under the hood and runs beautifully. I’ve cleaned a load of junk out from the water channels and just got the foot back with a replaced skeg, I’ll put pic on other thread next.
I got pre 2012 Honda matched paint for £13.45 from F10 Marine and free shipping. Also zinc primer so my next first is painting the engine rather that garden furniture or old cars!
