Helm seat

I have a Shetland 356 which is from the end run of that line and is more like a family 4, unfortunately it has no cockpit helm seat and want to fit one but have no idea how to do it or what type to fit can anyone help?

Hi Jon.
Go to Gallery and then Maintainence/DIY.
The main issue is to get enough reinforcement to the floor. I've used 12 mm ply.

in my 535 i have made the floor from 12mm ply and fitted the helmseat on top of that, because this wasent strong enough i refittet the helmseat on the floor and on the polyester hull. i will post some pictures to clear this all up
BTW i fixed the ply with bison kit on the floor so that it is watertight, and the helmseats keep the floor in place.

Hi Jon,
I used fibre resin on the floor to stick the ply and then I glassed it over with a layer of chopped mat.
The ply is about a metre square which allows plenty of stability.
