SHETLAND OWNERS ASSOCIATION

Hi People,

We have just bought a 1972 Shetland 535, which is in pretty good shape for her years. I would like some help however please.

Has anyone got any photos of the cabin hatch and ow this is fitted, it came with a new hatch but no fixings etc. I know these are £20.00 from Shetland but would like to see how they fit.

Are the two internal cupboards available as replacements, mine have been butchered!

Has anyone fitted an aft deck, i have some very nice seats to fit and would love some pictures of the best way to fit a new ply deck and the seats

re internal cabin fittings. As we all use the boast for different things I would make them to how you will use the boat. Marine ply is cheap and looks good and easy to work with.

Cabin hatch

best and easiest here is to go to a chandler and get the ones that look like fly nuts ie they attached to the Houdini cabin hatch and slot into 2 v small clips that you attached to the ceiling and then tighten up by turning what looks like a fly screw fitting.

I'm heading down to my 535 on Sunday. I'll try and remember to grab a picture of the hatch and it's fixings while I'm there.

Hopefully you'll be sorted by then anyway.

Here is a photo of one of mine. I bought my 536 F4 MK2 last December and this is my first season as well. Although I used all winter in getting to know aal around it and did many little things on it.
