Hi I have a Shetland 27 on the broads with a vision plus 330 aerial with a boaster and the signal is very poor and suggestions would be appriciated

Quality of the co-ax cable perhaps? Are there any sharp kinks in the Co-Ax, has it been trapped behind a door or shelf, are there any joiners that have corroded etc? Does it actually make any difference to the picture quality if you have the booster turned on or off? Or even if the aerial lead is plugged into your TV or not? These are the kind of questions I would be asking myself to narrow down the problem.
