new owner from France

Hello everyone,
I am the recent owner of a Shetland cruiser;
She is a 498 from 1979 that I bought on the french bank of the Leman lake.
The engines are a 50cv Johnson 2 stroke from 1982 and a 8cv Honda 4 stroke from 2008.
The whole package includes a road-trailer .
Of course this purchase will induce now some restauration work and "restart" process ; surprises and problems....I know .
How come a french man of 68 buys a Shetland of that age ?????
I am retired now from a long professional career in the Cruising barge business in Europe.
Incidentely I lived on a former freight cariier 35 m long from 1911 now sold ......so i am now happy to go back to rivers with basic means..... just pleasure no hassle!!!!!
To be complete my car is a Jaguar XJ40 from 1994, Gold model
The river virus got into my mind and body in 1968 when hitchiking in UK and beng droped in Norwich, rental of a small dinghy made the rest .....
