I've been a member here a few years during my ownership of my F4.
I bought the boat from a yard in essex for £1000. It was just the hull, used as a fishing boat so was in bad condition. The deck was completely rotten.
I thought I'd share my photos of the rebuild so far.

I also bought a snipe trailer on gumtree for £500 and completely rebuilt that too with new axle, bunks, bunk supports, and coupling.

Well done! Both boat and trailer look set to provide many more years of use. What foam did you use under cockpit sole ?

I kept the original foam - which I dried out over a summer. Dug a hole in the middle of it and water kept draining into the hole. It eventually dried completely after many times bailing it out. I then put 18mm marine ply and filled all the voids with 2 part polyurethane closed cell foam.

Just looked at all your photos, great work, well done.

Just finished varnishing and installing the newly rebuilt cabinetry... pics...

Hi Frankenstein,cracking pics your boat looks great. Question, could you possibly shed some light on the problem that Adam has got in the general section,basically he has a hole in his transom & needs to know if a bung is fitted cheers Magic

Frankenstein - amazing job mate. I will definitely have dozens of questions to you about the boat/project. I've bought F4 MK3 last week and want to make her mine so okenty of small bits to do. The floor seems to be solid but there's still plenty to do.
