Someone wants to sell it?

Can i ask, what do you mean by documents? There are some sales brochures in the Original Sales Section of the forum.

Boats in this country do not come with "owners"books If you buy a boat in the UK via a broker or a manufacturer you get what is known as a Bill of Sale. But not all small boats especially old small boats necessarily have one. The bill of sale is just a document stating ownership has changed. I have attached one as an example. If you are out of the UK then you will have to ask your own countries authorities.

Im in portugal. Here is almoust the same. With a similar document we go to the sea police and change the owner.
Diference is that it must be done presencially.

As Admin says, UK small boats have no official or government registration requirements or approved papers. The nearest we have are the original sales receipts (also known as the bill of sale) which does not always have the name of the buyer, and is probably long lost, a bill of sale between two private sellers and is usually hand written, or a registration certificate on the UK maritime and coastguard agency small ships register (MCA SSR) which is specifically for UK owned boats which temporarily cruise outside British waters, but it is not proof of ownership only British registration, is not transferable between owners, is only available to British nationals resident in the UK, and is just a kind of Boat passport.

I know where is a 535 shetland without any documents. So the owner can’t sell it to me. Thats why i started looking for something. Its pretty sad see that boat with tine time getting worse and not give life to it

But you could fill ou the bill of sale that I sent you. Buyer would be the current owner of the boat.( the person you want to buy from)

Make up a seller names with a UK address ( just google something) and date everything a few years ago. Photocopy it. The seller tends to keep the original and present to copy.

Like I say not sure how legal that is

I did something very similar when I sold my old British boat that I kept in Greece, when the buyer needed proof that VAT had been paid in the UK.
