SHETLAND OWNERS ASSOCIATION

So I’ve decided to crack on with the new deck, the old one was rotten in places so I’m taking the plunge.

I’d like some advice on my idea please.

Im intending to do the deck in 3 pieces so the centre piece be able to be lifted if the bilge pumps play up.

Im going to use ply and I shall be edging and fibreglassing it both sides.

Any advice appreciated.

Hi Jimbo, I have just taken ownership of a 570 which is a bit short on tlc. The cockpit floor plywood is no more so I will be watching your posts as obviously you are a few weeks in front of me with your refurb. My boat is complete but everything is tired to say the least. I have no time scale and will proceed with caution. I must say that everyone I have met/spoken to from the boating community has been positive, everyone else sceptical or worse. goodluck with your projest.
