SHETLAND OWNERS ASSOCIATION

Hello Everyone

I am new to this forum and bought my first boat in June last year a Shetland 4 plus 2 it's out of the water at the the minute, Can any one help me i need to do some gel coat repairs and need to match the gelcoat colour it was made in 1989 it's a off white colour can anyone tell me what colour match it is please

I don't know about the 4 + 2 but my 535 was listed by Shetlands as magnolia. Might be worth giving them a ring, they may sell a gell repair kit.

My Shetland is a cream colour. Here's what works for me...

* Teroson Gelcoat Filler from my local chandler (Westview Marina)
* Colour pots from a vinyl floor repair kit (Amazon)
* 30ml mixing pots (Amazon)

For a few ml of filler I add a blob of equal amounts of brown and yellow colour from the ends of matchsticks. I mix and test by smearing a sample on my boat. Once happy with the match, I wipe off the test gelcoat filler, add hardener and apply the coloured gelcoat. With practice it's quick and I'm happy with the result after sanding and polishing.
