Happy new year everyone, hope to see ya up on the loch this year neily as i plan to use the boat more this year.

Is your boat kept at the boatyard or do you trailer it up & down? What kind of fishing are you into, I'm gonna focus on the pike this year.

Hi neily, my boat is kept up at the boat yard, it saves a lot of hassle and to be honest its fairly cheap to keep it there. Need to do a few things on the boat before the season starts but yeah will prob do some pike fishing as well trout. Will fish anyway except trolling to be honest. Only actually got out maybe half a dozen times last year due to various reasons but had virtually no luck on the fish front, i dont really know the loch at all so if you have any helpfull info im all ears.

Excuse the pun Graham but much in the same boat mate, only fished the loch for one season (trout) so just learning the good marks. Here's a good site for info on fishing Awe http://www.fishinginuk.co.uk/pages/book_loch_awe1.htm

I also keep my boat at Donalds now, as you say it's a lot easier than pulling up & down from Ayrshire. Think she's the 3rd or 4th on the right as you drive down from the small hill

This years plan is to fish around the castle which i've never done, inbetween the islands and also try the very bottom of the Loch (Ford area) but sleep over night there. Well thats the plan anyway, we'll see what really happens soon.

Hi Neily, yea i seen that site thanks, I had my boat on that row as well but i was right under that dodgy looking tree so i got it moved to the left although to reverse in to my bay i have about 1 foot either side of me(not easy). I was down at the islands last year and it was down to about 10 foot deep, think between the islands is pretty shallow but a lot of the fly fishermen like it down there. Never went down to the castle but trolled a bit right down the pass where about 10 foot from the bank is 180 foot deep lol. Would like to find some good spots on the islands for bringing the boat in and do a bit of camping but hate doing that in case i wreck my outboard lol. Did go in here where i have marked and it ok to get in on both sides of the pininsula right at the sandy bit. Think its called Innishail but might be wrong need to check my os maps.
