a few weeks ago I lost at sea the hatch cover of my 498 (with a flexible solar panel glued on it :cry: ). It sunk in a place where water is quite deep, and so I am in the need for a new one. I can build one from scratch but I would need a sample to copy, and here there are no other boats ...

I do not know for sure, you could check motor height (anti-cavitation plate should be slightly lower than the lower point of the hull), trim settings/weight distribution on your boat, maximum revs you get at WOT compared to the specs. If all these things happen to be right I'd have the motor checked ...
