Thank you DACS but it is odd that it is only this area - as the other seating etc is zero on the damp meter

Here is a mystery! We have a Shetland 4+2 and the starboard side seat cushion near to the sink which forms part of the bed, is reading 30%+ on the damp meter this is the side next to the hull. Why does it appear to be so difficult to tell age a boat was built - I note many sites state the age of a boat is uncertain? Maybe 1999 for example.


With Shetland's are the design features with help with establishing the age?

We are looking at buying a Shetland 4+2. It has a 25hp Honda outboard and the boat looks clean and tidy - age not certain. Any advice as to what we should look out for when checking the boat over?
