I bought my Kestrel and want to change engine
, does anybody know how to remove this

Hi there mine is similar & I have a key that unlocks that cover, is there a key slot on the end ?

Yes there is , do you know what make it is , I will chase them up , or I will grind the dome off

Sorry would not know a name, do you have a key with the boat that you can't find a lock for? if so give the unit a good squirt of wd & give it a try. If you have to grind it of, don't forget to mask all f/glass areas, good luck

No , no spare keys , ground the dome head off on the outside of the boat and it is square bore so will not knock through , grinder will not fit in the lock side , so stumped at the mo . Sold the engine and the buyer wants to collect

Got it off , it was same as a coach bolt , ground it down till round then knocked it through , took a while then all the fiddley bits , looking for a 15hp four stroke now
