Teleflex steering.

Hi,

Can anyone tell me who would have a Teleflex cable letters+nmbrs SSC7212 12 FTAPR 3093, from my kestrel.
Also need help on the outer aluminium scrolled tube that has a ball on it , that screws up this tube, and has 2 round plates that tighten up through the boat hole ( which is fibreglass) the end rod of the teleflex (which goes through this aluminium tube) then bolts to the engine.

What is this aluminium tube called?

Hi ,Paul just had a cable snapped on my Black Hawk last week (final week of the season indian summer no steering,Bah!!!)I had to replace the whole system due to its age,parts no longer made,original bits where Morse who became Teleflex.I found Marinescene chandlers very helpful, using your numbers they could advise & or supply. Splashwell tube is the right name,older units have an adaptor screwed onto the inboard end of the tube with a clamp bolt thro'. With some new cables this is not required as the new cable will screw straight onto the tube, pending on the type of replacement cable,you may have to re-centralise the steering stroke,ie:-lock to lock count wheel turns, turn wheel back to mid point, does the engine appear to be straight ahead as it were, if not you have to split the 2 plates apart,the "ball" splits in half which allows it to be moved along the tube so bringing the cable end into line with the engine mounting point. A bit long winded I know,but I've had to do it this last few days,it makes sense as you do it. Hope I'm not teaching my granny to suck eggs hehe Cheers Magic
