Shetland 535 engine wheight

Good evening everyone.
I would like to put in my shetland 535 a yamaha ft50j 4 stroke high trust. It weights 125kgs.
My doubt is if its not to heavy

I have an inboard/outboard fitted to my 535. Engine weight is 280 lbs and outdrive 90lbs. To counter balance this weight, the battery is fitted under the front bunk. This set uo seems about right, but your motors weight will all be over the transom. Is 125kgs really the weight of a 50hp outboard? Mine is a heavy old cast iron 85hp lump and it would appear to be similar weight as yours. Might be worth checking.

The brochure says 125kg. I can adjust transom. Thats easy. But maybe the front will be all up

Honda 50hp 4 stroke is only 101kgs. The ft50j is a hundredweight more, do you know makes the Yamaha so heavy ?

Something related with torque. The f50h is honda same wheight. Less torque...

My 535 has a 60hp Mariner EFI four stroke hanging on the back. The engine is specified at 112 kg. By itself it isn't a big problem provided I keep the fuel tanks and batteries at the forward end of the cockpit and the area under the outboard well empty. However hanging a four horse four stroke alongside it means the boat's balance is definitely a little nose light / tail heavy. More weight in the cabin helps, as will finding a lightweight four horse two stroke as a replacement for the existing standby unit..

I fit this one last week. Batery will go to the front.beside that its great
