Companionway hatch - sash window fastener? Shetland F4

Hi All
I'm trying to establish the original fixings that held the companionway hatch lid down. I've attached a photo of what was on mine when I got it - were these original equipment on the Shetland F4? Need to replace them and have found they are generic Sash window fasteners, so shouldn't be a problem to replace as there seem to be loads out there of similar design.

I'm curious on two things, one which makes me question whether these are original is the lower part of the clamp section is galvanised, and the upper assembly is chrome plated? Any ideas?

Second question, I can't recall how the companionway door works, but mine is the original door, a high density plywood with grey melamine veneer, its split folding and to my memory folds into the deck area and presses flat against the port side vertical cabin panel. I know the companionway hatch fits over the door when closed, so in my mind I'm thinking - how on earth do you fasten the sash clamps on the hatch down when the door is closed???! Am I missing something?

Hi,

The sash fittings are correct, and the corroded zinc type alloy is the original part.
There is a slight gap between the door and the hatch cover, which allows the door to open and close while the hatch cover is fastened down.

Ok thanks for reply! Now it makes sense, I'll probably need to trim the door down a bit then as I've re-done the floor in my boat with 18mm marine ply and I feel its probably a little higher than it was originally.
