Internal hull and ceiling linings

Hi Guys
What materials are members using to line the internal hull sides and ceilings Of your boats and does anyone know of a supplier

My ceiling is painted and the cabin sides are marine carpet, I can't help with the supplier though because I nicked the carpet out my dad's garage lol

I'm about to finish relining my F4 cabin. Looks fabulous!!!
I used van lining from ebay (it comes with several cans of glue) which is fantastic to work with. Its a bit stretchy so you can get every corner nicely finished. My boat looks like new inside. I'm still working on some detailing though but major job has been done.
Check this post. Frankenstein additionally used insulation before he put van lining.

By the way, he did fantastic job. The cabin looks better than it left Shetland factory.
Mine is starting to look similar. I'm perfectionist as well so it's gonna be highly detailed.

How did you find it on the curved surfaces?

Hi,

The original fabric is basket weave chenille, widely available. The original suppliers are probably all retired now, given the age of most Shetlands...

It's very easy to cover curved surfaces, corners etc, believe me. The van lining is very forgivible. The spray glue works brilliantly. But it takes time if you want to get this done nice. You can do it quick but you will end up with awful wrinkles, overlaps etc... I did couple of cabin linings before using van lining.
One of the boat we did with my mate had lining replaced in 2012. Still in good shape after 8 years. No mould, rot nothing.
You can buy marine carpet but by adding the word "marine" price rises 400%.
I don't want to advertise any specific ebay sellers here so if you are interested just p.m. me or if its not about money just go for "marine lining".

Yeah, household carpets are not good for boat or van lining.
