Converting a tiller to remote throttle

I’ll definitely look at upgrading I think, the bigger outboards are so expensive though
Ideally at 1st I’d like to buy the throttle remote kit and use mine but it sounds like it’s expensive to then change the tiller to remote , I must admit I thought that it was just a case of buying a basic clamp/kit and taking off the tiller but looking at the previous posts I don’t think this is the case
Did you buy your 15hp outboard converted?
I thought they all came as standard with the tiller
I’m still learning but fast thanks to you guys

My nearest stretch of the Thames is Hampton court so it’s quite calm

I’ve attached a pic of my boat , so looking forward to renovating the inside which needs a bit of work

The sweet spot for outboards for a 535 are 7-10hp for inland, and 50-60hp for coastal. In these size ranges tiller outboards are rare, the majority sold will be on remotes. A 20hp would be too powerful on the Thames, never getting above half revs and costing more than needed, and too small to use coastal, if you or the next owner go to sea.
If you get a 20hp 2 stroke, it will not be reliable as the sparkplugs will keep oiling up running at low revs constantly, 2strokes need to be used predominantly at high revs to keep them running well.

Agree, plus fuel savings, do you want to sip or glug fuel at 4 knots?! You can part x your existing engine or sell it.
Boat looks nice. We used to launch at Canbury Gardens. If we could get past Ye Olde Swan, Molesey lock was the first stop. Lovely stretch of river, we lived opposite the Lensbury Club. My engine was fitted with remotes. Post pics of your project inside.

Even with a 4stroke, I typically get through 80litres or more in a weekend, it was more like 120L+ mixing oil when I had a 2stroke 50hp.
That's why I've laid my F4 up and bought a yacht...

As you can see the floor needs replacing
So I’m after advice on laying the marine ply.
And if I should lay anything under it and if I need to seal it

I have brought some foam and upholstery so going to make some seating for inside

Also hard to see from the photo but last owner made he’s own tinted windows, which look great but from inside you see the plastic nuts all around the windows, some sort of seal to disguise these would be handy, I’ll try to post more pics of this in next couple of days

And as you can see the fibreglass wall needs tidying up I’m probably looking at boxing it in once I have all the 12v cables in.
Ideally I’d like some Led lights for inside and maybe lights outside
That’s a project in its self wiring the 12v circuit
I’m quite electrical minded but want to maximise my options if you have any ideas for this.

The exposed nuts for the windows are normal with oversized windows bolted on.

My 4+2 has capped stainless nuts every 100mm or so, I wondered if you had enough.

I think it’s fine, jobs been done well and sealed
Be nice to cover them with some sort of trim but I don’t think this can be done.
