Agreed. There’s quite a bit of activity on the 2 (identical?) Shetland BookFace groups, but I get bored of reading questions about “where can I get a new canopy from?”

Looks to me that Shetland boats has made the decision on whether the 4 plus 2 is seaworthy. 19th May phoned them spoke to them about a new build local coastal cursing told it was up to the task, Asked for a bow thruster electronics pack i.e. chart plotter/fish-finder and a VHS DSC radio to be fitted told it would take couple days to cost these extras and would call back. Saturday 22nd rang Shetland Boats about progress told he ring Monday 24th I asked if he new boats deadrise of the top of his head and said no but would get it for Mondays call back. If he can't be bothered to return calls then I'm not chasing after him. So looking else ware So wanted to buy British. Now looking at a Quicksilver 605 pilothouse or Merry Fisher 605 Merlin or Pegazus 520 fisher.

I’ve read elsewhere here that the company was not much more than one guy for a long while so there may well be reasons for slow responses. Not sure if there is new management now. Given what life is about just now I’d not expect pre Covid customer service and Shetland are a small independent boat builder (aren’t they?). Hopefully they’ll get a nice boat made for you. The trade is swamped with orders cos people are buying boats and campers instead of foreign holidays. Hope you get sorted.
