Steering cable to go

I have a 4+2 steering cable. Ultraflex M66 4.75m (15' 7" I think). This is heavy duty for up to 90hp or so.

The Morse helm has play so I am replacing both helm and cable. The cable looks fine, but I was advised the coiled wire that engages with the helm teeth can stretch over time as the teeth wear, so when fitted to a new helm can slip.

As I say, it looks fine and moves as new. Free if you want it to try. Let me know, I'm in Guildford.

I am interested in the cable I am refurbing a shetland 535. Your cable might work with a bit of luck. Do you have the controls by chance ? The engine we have for now is a 40hp 2 stroke. thks Jack

Just the cable - the old helm was worn out. The pictures show how it attaches to the engine. Standard I believe.

Any interest? I had put it in the bin but rescued it today! The ends are wrapped so clean.

It will need to go at some point, I have so much clutter!!

I can hang on to it for a while if you like. It’s rated for 90hp. This is the old helm, the cable engages with the lower wormscrew which doesn’t look too worn to me.
