535 iron lifting lugs in floor.

I have just removed the wooden floor from my recently acquired 535 and found 2 iron 'lifting lugs' built into the main floor support members. I propose to cut them out. Anyone else found this fitting

Hi Clive,
Yes my 2+2 has them cast into lead strips in the rear of the boat just like your picture.

I thought I might take some of the lead out to compensate for a heavy four stroke but I am concerned that the boat structure will be compromised if I do.

I assume they are cast in for handling the lead during construction.

Thanks for the response, I hadn't realised that they were fitted into lead strips.......we learn something everyday !!!!!!
