4+2 age

4+2 Date.
I have just got a 4+2 with a Volvo 3ltr onboard. I can't find any date or makers plate to find out when it was built. Anyone got any ideas. Were they factory built or built by the owner.

Have a look maybe 6cm under the rubbing strip on the transom starboard side (back of boat right side). It is stamped into the GRP. Mine is 4+2 319. 319 is 1998, years can be found in Boat Specs.

Haha! Well I'm in. Guildford so by this forum's standards we are neighbours! How long have you had the boat and where is it kept? Mine's on a trailer at my house, been renovating/updating and what with the pandemic, I've only used it on the River Wey a few times. The Thames is next then Chichester Harbour, just looking at booking the training for coastal use. Should be fun.

I am at Weybridge marine. Have had boats there for about 14 years. I have just got this one. It needs a bit of work but basically it sound. Years ago I had a 535 for fishing in the Solent great little boat on the sea.

Could we launch our boat there? Thinking of launch places where we can park the car and trailer. Your inboard must have some grunt - we have a 35hp Honda outboard.

There is a good slipway at Walton with a free carpark.you could check it out just by Walton bridge. I would think you will have to be there early at the weekend or most of the marina's have slipways you can use for a fee of course.

Think we’ve used that - isn’t it steep? And I worry about security leaving the trailer despite wheel locks. Had a bad experience there if it’s the same one.
