Has anyone used this paint before? Just had the topside painted and we keep getting uneven roller strokes. When its dry there looks like bits have been missed which we know haven't and also the lines appearing from rollers. Used Mediterranean white and the top and Platinum for the bulkhead.. no problems with the platinum at all just this white. Paint was just rolled on. No tipping off as per the info from the data sheet.

Off to the chandlers tomorrow for more paint. Going to try using 10% thinners 100 and use a mohair roller and apply another coat once wet and dried.

Hi Craig I have used toplac paint and you can achieve a good finish
All I did was to rub the boat down with water and 320 grit ,wash down
Wipe over with white spirit apply two coats of primer they recommend for
Toplac sanded the second coat with 400 grit washed wiped down with
White spirit
Toplac paint is very thin give it a good stir I used a foam roller you will
Have to change them when you painting as the foam will start to deteriorate
I kept plenty of paint on the roller all the time covering an area and just
Levelling the paint one way toplac starts to dry straight away do not go back
And for you will lift the paint
When paint is dry hand sand with soapy water and 400 grit apply second

Hi les, so we went with the thinners and wet sanded it all flat and we got an acceptable result. Would have been better had we thinned the paint in the first place but its all a learning curve and next time we will be ready with the thinners.

Not sure if this helps, but I found waiting longer between coats made a difference. Might be worth trying if you do another coat?
