cover for the winter
Hello all this is probably a silly question but do any of you cover your boats for the winter? I'm planning on leaving my 570 in the water untill spring and then take her out, so I'm interested to know if you think it would be a good idea to cover it with something like a Tarp or will I get lots of condensation? If I cover it would it be ok to cover over the canopy whilst it is up ?

You might want to think about a tonneau?
The only time the canopy on my 4 Plus 2 is up is when I’m overnighting or cruising in the rain. At all other times, i.e. when the boat’s left on its mooring, out for the Winter or being towed, the tonneau can “take the strain” of rain, snow, goose poo etc., leaving the canopy itself like new.
With the usual precautions - soft furnishings taken home, ventilators cleared etc. - condensation shouldn’t be a problem with a small GRP boat like a Shetland.
