Hello,
After a small incident on the M25 yesterday I am now looking for a new trailer for my 498.
I intend to use it to launch and recover fairly frequently as I will keep the boat at home.
Any advice on a good one which will not cost me the earth would be appreciated.
I assume rollers are better than bunks?
Also, how on earth do I move the boat from a broken immobile trailer in my drive to a new trailer!?

To get the boat off the trailer use a trolley jack and pieces of wood.
There was a very good time lapse video on youtube showing how to do it but
unfortunatly that video is no longer there. However, here's another one which
will give you some idea of what is required.

Remove everything that's not nailed down from the boat to make it as light as possible.
If the transom is hanging past the end of the trailer you can lift the whole stern in one go
with the jack.
Have a search on google and a more indepth look on youtube for more information.

The way I have removed a boat from a broken tailer in the past is to simply winch it off, in the same way as you winch it on,
Place some tyres on the ground for the hull to sit on when it's off the trailer, then simply take your winch strap out of the winch, take it down to the axle of the trailer, go around the axle and then back up to the winch eye of the boat, now by winching your find the boat pulled backwards towards the tyres on the ground, (if you can stop the trailer moving by putting onto a tow bar it will help) I have done this many times and the winch will pull the boat off the trailer
