Standby engine
Standby engine
I have a Shetland 500 the same as 498 and hobby. Would a short shaft Honda 2.3hp be suitable as a standby, my main engine is a Honda 50

I have a 2.3 Honda back up for our Black Hawk, it is a long shaft, however the Black Hawk is bigger boat and it pushes it along at approx 3 to 4 knots at a guess. Not sure if a 500 would require a long shaft.
If it wasn't for physics and law enforcement I'd be unstoppable
