I know this is probably a silly question but being quite new to this boating lark. can anyone tell me if there is a correct place to fly my SOA Burgee in relation to the red ensign ?

I love a conundrum and a good old Internet search leads me to the following conclusion.
The ensign must occupy the "senior" position which is, maybe surprisingly, the stern (that's evidently because that's where the boat is steered from). The club burgee should, says my bit of digging, be flown on the bow on motor boats.
So, there you go.

It needs to be flown from the front. Most convenient place is the front light ensamble

It can be flown from the same mast as the duster but must be flown below it and should be smaller.
