Where are they????
Took the boat out last weekend to find that apart from two hire boats, we were the only one on the river tween Osney and Sandford. Ok, it was cold and a bit of snow in the air but it seems to me that boaters are in the same bracket as motorbike riders.....fair weather only.

Its ok for you river folk but believe me the Solent in a Force 6 easterly with visibility down to a few yards and 6 ft waves is no picnic. Spring or no spring.

We are trailer boaters and should have been on the water a month ago and also should currently be on the Caledonian Canal! Needless to say we aren't! But engine service has now been rebooked (should have been the weekend of the snow) so currently now due on Windermerevthe first week of May, last year we woke up on our last weekend of the season on the Severn at Upton thinking that snow had fallen the frost was that thick.... It was November !!! Certainly can't be described as only fair weather boaters, we just try and trailer where the 'weather' is, not managed it so far so probably best to avoid our boating choices!!!
