Im looking into launching my boat on the Thames. This will be just for the odd day so I will be looking to purchase a "day pass". Can I buy these passes on the water or do I have to apply several days before ? And
Will I need a boat safety certificate ? And if so how much do they cost ?

You should be able to by a day pass at any of the locks on the Thames and you can buy them on line at the Canals and Rivers trust.

In most cases you will be asked for a BSC, however we signed an exempt form the last time we trailered to the Severn. Because we are 90% coastal base and therefore dont need a BSC we were allowed to get an inland licence without one ( we have since obtained a BSC) Ring them and ask
