Where has the time gone ?

So my first season of owning a boat is nearly coming to an end , I'm already planing the trip down south to bring her home I will be doing some bits and bobs over the next couple of months and then putting her in the docks for the winter , just so I can still use her !

What's your plans for the winter , dry storage , or carry on using through the rest of the year ?

I would be interested to know what happens to all these boat when mr frost shows his face ?

Normally we would haul out end of September and leave her on the drive for winter TLC and DIY. but this year we have a bigger boat with heating (bliss) so our boating season is now extended. I guess once the hour goes on we will put her on the drive again for all those ikle bitty jobs to be done.

Being sheltered on the Norfolk Broads and having the luxury of shore power and heating I will be using the 640 all year.
The rivers take on a whole new appearance in winter and are just as beautiful as in the summer, plus the fact that they become relatively quiet with very little traffic on them.
Wrap up warm when off the boat and running my 2 border collies along the sides of the rivers even when there is snow on the ground.
Stop off at one of the many welcoming pubs with friends for a meal and refreshments (most have a log fire burning)
The only time when we are grounded is on the very rare occasion that ice forms on the rivers (only twice in 12 yrs) and that's only for a few days normally.
Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but being retired it suits me as I can pick and choose when I spend time on the boat these days.

We're on the south west coast of Anglesey so winter seas are savage here, not much chance of getting out even if it was warm enough. Yala is in dry storage now until spring, winterised and polished

E now own a 4+2 that has come with all bells and whistles including hot water and heating. This has extended our season quite a bit. However as the Solent can be lumpy foggy and windy! we have now pulled her put for some TLC and a coat of anitfoul. Roll on March!!!

I keep my boat in a trailer park over winter, keeping her topped up with fuel to avoid condensation in the tank and draining the water out of the engine. May be a bit chilly, but have beautiful winter days on the sea.
