I apologize for my bad english its the language I do not know very well because I am not an english fellow but from Luxemburg. I have to replace the 2 big windows of my speedwell boat. Have you done this with yours? What engine do you use onyour boat? Have you used it on a rough sea yet?

I replaced all the windows on my Speedwell last year and found the best way of doing this is...remove the frame holding the windows in place (leaving the window attached to the boat), get a roll of wallpaper and tape it over the window and with a craft knife very carefully cut out the shape of the window, then find a local perspex dealer and take this template to them as they should be able to cut it to size for you.
If your windows are held in place by rubber there are tools available to remove the window from them and take your old window.
It is important that you pick a few days where dry weather is guaranteed for obvious reasons.
My engine is a Mercury 15HP four stroke and find this great for inland waterways however a bigger engine might be required for sea going...our member Dave in Glasgow is the expert on engines so it might be worth contacting him

The boat is on the Lancaster Canal which has a speed limit of 4mph (6kph) and so is more than adequate, but could be undersized for your needs. I had a new canopy made for my boat last year. I can let you know who made it but they are in the Northwest of England. Usually they measure up and custom fit it. In the other hand Shetland will supply you one I think.
