4+2 on the Broads

Hi SOA member's
Does anyone know if a 4+2 soft top is a good boat for the Norfolk broads ? We have been on the broads with our 570 a few times and now we are thinking of getting a boat permanently moored there but I’m not sure about the low bridges. I have a chart that shows some to be only 6 foot but that is at high water so it’s not really definitive. If I’m not mistaken the 4+2 rag top has an air draft of 6’11’’ but is that with the screen up or down as I have seen some advertised with folding screen’s. Another question is do they all have folding windscreens or have some been modified ?
Any advise will be appreciated.

Hi I have a 4+2 and the folding screen is standard. You pull out two aluminium runners or pegs( they look like long tent pegs) from either side the screen. Then slide the two side screens off and then down the front screen folds. Takes 2 minutes. If screen has electric windscreen wipers then guess it will mot fold down so flat.

Thanks for the reply Andrew but I have now purchased my new boat (new to me that is) and its a lot larger than I had planned !!!. It most definitely won't get under wroxham or potter bridges. I have brought a "Princess 33" !!!!!!!!!!! 33 foot long X 11 foot beam with twin diesel engines and an air draft of 2.7 meters !!!.
i'm sorry to not get another Shetland but I fell in love with this boat and just had to have her. I still have my 570 and don't know whether to sell or not because I do like to take her to Loch Lomond now and again and I've spent a lot on improvements that I know I wont get back if I sell, so someone could get a bargain at my expense.
may sell next year ? who knows ?
