caravan chassis

Hi,

does anyone have any thoughts or experience with making a trailer from a caravan chassis? I have a shetland 570. The chassis is breaked and has a 1300kg rating. I want a bear (empty not grizzly) trailer to enable my own configuration of rollers etc. Thanks

a mate of mine had his pilot 17 on one for a few years,
he put a lenght of channel iron down the middle and some cross peaces in it,
rollers up the centre and bunked either side,
worked well for him,
only changed it because he got a roller trailer at a good price

cheers for that, appreciate the reply. So there is no fundamental reason I can't do it? Can pick up a chassis for about £100.

anyone have any opinions on this for my 570? Don't know the condition until I look but length etc ok??

More than a bit late, but if anyone else is looking, that trailer had no brakes so you would not be able to tow anything over 750kg with it, that weight includes the trailer itself, so a 570 on that would be a no-no.
