Replacing a deck on shetland 535

Well, as promised, here are a couple of pics of the inside of my cockpit. The ribs certainly have the appearance of having been there since tge boat was built snd she's an early model with the more rounded window shape. Her serial number, believe it or not, is 666.

were did you find her serial number i have not look could be interesting i think thank you again ,,, well i have no ribs or stringers showing just hull shape same as out side now floor and foam all out

Hi, Bought My Shetland New in 1969 (hull 588). Cockpit ribs are identical to Wammers. I`ve two plates next to door pillar on side of helm moulding. One shows carrying capacity certified by SBBNF, the other, makers address and hull no. If they are there, the`re very visual. Hope this helps. Keith

Hi thank you for that as well have no door pillars as look as if new plywood side add at some time no sign of steering mount or any thing getting like Sherlock Home novel , i have tried to attach photos but can not not sure why that is my be me i have to get daughter to show how ,have had photos sent to me on this site can not open , maybe because very new member ,Barton that should be no door pillars was just plywood each side of door opening i have to look on they plywood to see if anything on them but think its a replacement

Yep, like Keith's mine has its I.d. plates on the side of the helm moulding near the cabin door.

I'm not particularly a believer in the significance of 666 as a number but if I'd noticed it at the time of purchase I may have had a bit of a wobble..

It is obviously a 1969 model. A proper classic!

I will be getting on with my deck soon but am lucky in having the ribs to fix to. I still haven't decided what materials to use, or whether extra bouyancy under the deck is needed.

well i am not sure what to do if i go a head with this one or not yet as now deck and foam has gone walking on inside of hull i find a bit scary , i have now joined soon as get the ok i have a look at your photos , and go from there , going ahead will put in ribs and stringers , then put ply floor down fibreglass underside and edges , then fill fill under floor with expanding foam drilling maybe a 60 mm holes in ply floor till expands out of next hole forgot stringers to have spacer s in so they are not on hull ,hull must flex a bit a told , 12mm foam or bosser wood spacers time for me not that bad retired old git Must say a big thank you to all you guys , i will add photos as soon as i can (also had foam under cabin and deck floors )
