Went to see the "Miss Diane " today, I had put de-humidifiers in and that cleared up the condensation, but the socket where the table fits in was full of dirty water...! Can't see where the water is getting in...! Any suggestions...?

if the boat is out of the water the good news is your hull is ok and it is coming from the cabin. This is normaly window seals so i would check there first, it also could just be lots of condensation so insert solar vents by replacing the ones all ready there and this will solve it long term.

Hi Rob

When we bought our Black Hawk the hatch and windows had been leaking quite badly. As a result there was 10cm of water sitting in the cabin.

As a result of the poor design ie. the table leg hole being cut into the cabin floor and not being sealed to protect the foam. The water is drawn into the foam in between the hull and the cabin floor. Why Shetland didn't use closed cell foam I've no idea.

So after fixing the leaks and stripping the cabin bare if took almost three months for the water to stop accumulating in the hole

The foam in our still feels damp but water has stopped building up so I can only hope we got most of it out.

Rolling up and newspaper and sticking it in the hole helps to draw out the water a bit.

Good luck with yours, hopefully yours hasn't taken in as much water as ours.

Beautiful day today so went to see "Miss Diane " only to find more water in the cabin, at least an inch of it, the newspaper I rolled up and put it the table hole was sogging. Anyway, took off the canopy and opened her all up to let some air in around her. Hopefully getting the outboards serviced next Saturday then into the water she goes.

Going to buy new batteries for my boat, should I buy 2 leisure batteries or 1 leisure, 1 car...?
