Suitable anchor

Most of my questions on here have been a bit basic.
And here's another.
Next week we take the boat (Black Hawk) up to Windermere for a few days.(Overnighting at a marina).
Our limited use so far has been on rivers and as yet we have had no need for an anchor.
But for Windermere I guess we'll need one.
What sort do I get? There seem to be lots of different designs.
From what I understand Windermere mostly has a rocky bottom.
And how do you get the blessed things to release when you want to leave?

We have a 7.5Kg CQR on ours, 10M chain and 60M rope, it works well on sand, mud and pebbley bottoms even in strong tides. Never tried it on a rocky bottom.
To recover it if it's stuck you can have a second line tied to the back of the CQR's plough with a small bouy on the other end, pull that and the anchor should release all but the worst jams

Well I doubt you'll have much in the way of tides on Windermere so I guess a simple weight would be enough at a push. Best of luck and have fun, take some pics and post them
