Painting the interior of speedwell

On the inside of my Shetland Speedwell the previous owner has painted the fibreglass with emulsion, and this is now flaking off. Can anyone let me know how to prepare for re painting and secondly what to paint it with. My first thoughts were to rub down with sand paper and then repainted with ordinary gloss paint?

why don't you cover it with foam backed vinyl stuck on with spray glue.

Nice idea Jim, I think this would help with condensation? What about the preparation, do you think is safe to sand the loose paint?

Hello I painted the inside/ceiling and sides of an old norman boat, few years back.
I sanded the flaking stuff back clean with a degreaser /thinners
paint using international toplac paint, used there undercoat first, came up great and never flaked in the winter frosts.
