535 suntrip and motor

just bought a 535 Suntrip last year and can't wait to use it. Have bought a 60 hp mercury 2 stroke to replace the 15 hp so I can use it on the sea. However, looking at the transom, it appears to have a two inch hollow double lip for the top mounting bolts, and a single skin for the bottom two - does that sound right? The previous owner had fitted a crude bracket to the top of the transom to lift the long shaft to a short hsaft height for some reason (I bought it from the broads).
If anyone has any advice or info or even pics of how a big motor fixes to the suntrip transom, I'd be grateful!

Hi there puffer its Bountyhunter here I to have a suntrip which I have fitted a new 60EFI four stoke to and it has sat on top of the transum without any packing up, and the fin on the gear box has lined up with the keel of the boat fine. Now the 2 top hole on mine go in to the well which is about 40 mm thick the 2 bottom holes go side the boat about 125mm up off the floor but again that area is about 40 mm thick . when you look under the well the transum is about 40 mm thick for the width of the well but then it steps in where it is only about 10mm thick I can send you some pictures if you send an email address because I dont now how to add pictures to this email My email address is [email protected] When you see my suntrip you will see I have reshaped it a bit , ie windows / the wing at the back of the cabin and the inner panle of the well. Hope you like what you see , PS this boat was £156 of ebay and it was a bit of a wreck but it fine now and it goes out fishing over wrecks now instead of been one.

It doesn't sound like my setup but I have sent you an email so maybe your pics will explain. Anyone out here with more info woudl be appreciated. I can't see how my transom will take this load bolted to it. If anyone has tips on strengthening the transom, I'd like to hear/see.
