Drain Plug

Hello, boaters newbies question. The drain plug in the Shetland boat. How does it remove! I pulled up the wee ring and turned it but it just goes round and does not screw out. I did give it a pull, but its seam to be tight. Just want to know if you pull it out. As it looks like it never been taken out before. Don’t want to pull on it too hard if that’s not how it comes out.

Hello corsur,if it's like the plug on my last boat,the handle is like a lever so when lifted up, as it where it clamps the rubber plug into the hole,placing the handle level (in line )with the hole releases the pressure & it should pull/wiggle out.However if it's not been out for years you may have to tap it out with punch & hammer from the opposite side,easy if the boats out of the water.(not advised when its in)

Thanks dave Yes it is the leaver that lifts up.

Cover it in washing up liquid when you put it back in, it will come easier the next time if you excuse the innuendo...
