Canopy clips

Hello all,

Can anyone help with a supplier of the white plastic canopy clips for my shetland family 4 please?

Have e mailed shetland but no reply.

Also i have completed , very badly , a grp repair in my anchor locker using the west system repair kit.
Foolishly i touched the deck surface with my gloves which were sticky with resin and have left yellow staining in a couple of places.
Does any one know if can remove this or will it be permanent reminder of my stupidty !!!

Can help with GRP… it stays sticky if you don’t cover it with acetate to keep the air off it when drying and needs to be left overnight. Don’t worry about the stains, just sand it back with wet and dry. I used East Coast Plastics kits to do mine and they have some excellent vids.
If sticky you will get through more sandpaper as it’ll clog.

GRP is designed to be painted onto a mould, the mould side dries and the exposed bit stays sticky to help the fibreglass resin stick to it, hence the need for acetate. It’s almost impossible to mess up glassing, worst is getting mix wrong but it’ll alway clean off. I did mine 3 times before I got the colour right, just a pain sanding it back.

Good you started in the anchor locker as it doesn’t show? You could paint some resin over it as another choice (like onboard lockers are). Good luck!

Thanks so much for reply, yes it the plastic turn buttons i am after.
I have seen the stainless ones but as i only need to replace 2 or 3 i don't really want to replace all the clips on the boat !!

If you come across a supplier for the plastic ones would be most grateful to hear!1

My plastic ones break steadily due to UV damage and inherent weakness. I’m replacing them in stages, stainless looking much crisper and nicer than plastic in my opinion. At least when they’re done they won’t break again! Lower profile if that’s important.
